Dear Roberge Elementary School Families:

It is with great excitement and enthusiasm that I welcome you all back to Roberge for the 2022-2023 school year!  I’m proud of the great work we accomplished last year and am looking forward to building off that work this year to best support, inspire, and motivate our young learners.

Last year, we spent considerable time focusing on thinking critically and creatively in the classroom, capturing what it looks like, and helping our students find ways to improve in these areas.  While this is challenging work, it is also incredibly rewarding and essential to our students’ future success. This also closely aligns with our Portrait of a Graduate, which has proven to be our guiding philosophy as we look to prepare our students for the complex and unpredictable world ahead of them in the 21st century.  This year, we will continue this invaluable work by finding ways to link the “Four C’s” (Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Creativity) more explicitly to the tenets of the Portrait of a Graduate. We will also be looking to more closely define what the areas of focus of the Portrait of a Graduate look like in our classrooms.  This is exciting and innovative work that we are embarking on, and we are looking forward to continuing to find ways to help our students develop these vital skills.

Each new school year presents new challenges and tremendous opportunities for growth and development.  We will continue to find ways to support the “whole child” each and every day. One way we plan on accomplishing this is by expanding on our mindfulness program to offer more time throughout the day for students to focus on their thoughts and emotions under the careful guidance of our staff.

Our students benefit most when we all come together to ensure that their needs are being met and they are able to reach their full potential.  I am confident that we can best support the students of Roberge as a collective unit. I want nothing more than for the students of Roberge to have a school year that is enriching, inspiring, and enjoyable.  Through our partnership, I’m confident we can accomplish this.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns; I look forward to working with all of you.

Warm regards, Stephen A. Wren Principal
